Before your child can begin playing with their friends through Vector, you will need to set up your robot (if you have one) and the VectorConnect app.

If you have a Vector, follow these steps:

Once you recieve your Vector, you will need to set up your robot to respond to base voice commands and connect your robot to your child’s friends. You can connect with friends even if they do not have their own Vector.

If you have questions after following this guide, please refer to our FAQ and Support pages for help.

Step 1: Unbox your Vector and follow the included setup instructions

Once you recieve your Vector, you will need to do some basic setup. Setup instructions from the manufacturer are included in the box with Vector. You will need to follow these instructions to connect Vector to the internet and enable voice commands.

Step 2: Download the VectorConnect app from the App Store or Google Play Store

To enable your child to play with their friends through Vector, you will need to download the VectorConnect app. We support both iOS and Android systems.

Step 3: Follow the setup instructions in the VectorConnect app

Before you can connect with a remote friend, you will need to give the VectorConnect app some information about your robot. Follow the instructions in the app to complete the setup of your robot.

Step 4: Find a friend and connect!

Now that both Vector and the VectorConnect app are set up, you are ready to start a session with one of your child’s friends. When you start a session, your Vector will be controlled remotely by your child’s friend. They will be able to see through the robot’s eyes and drive the robot from their home.

To ensure secure connections between the intended recipeients, you must give your child’s friend’s parents a daily password to connect with your robot.

You can find ideas for games that your children can play with the Vector on our Play page.

If you do not have a Vector, follow these steps:

Even if you do now own a Vector, your child can still connect with their friends who do own Vectors. Through the VectorConnect app, your child will be able to remotely control Vector and see through the robot’s eyes.
